YOU WILL NEED: All of these can be easily found at your local stationery shop.\r
• Black chart paper x1\r
• Black construction paper x1\r
• Green glitter foam sheet x1\r
• White felt cloth x1\r
• Pencil x1\r
• A piece of string, about 10 inches long\r
• Silver ribbon\r
• Yellow feather x1\r
• Silver/blue shiny threads\r
• A pair of scissors\r
• Glue\r
Steps:\r
The body of the hat:\r
1. Cut black chart paper into 2 halves\r
2. Tie a string to the pencil and make a compass\r
3. With this compass, draw a semi-circle on one of the halves\r
4. Fold the semi-circle to make a cone\r
The rim of the hat:\r
1. Place the cone on the black construction paper\r
2. Trace the base of the cone on the construction paper with a white crayon to get a circle\r
3. Around this circle, draw a bigger circle, leaving a gap of 3 inches\r
4. Cut out both the inner and outer circles\r
Assembly:\r
1. Cut fringes all around the base of the cone, with a gap of 1 inch between them\r
2. Bend the fringes outwards\r
3. Take blue and silver threads and stick them to the inner edge of the rim\r
4. Take the cone and apply glue to the upper portion of the fringes\r
5. Lift the rim and slide it over the cone so that it sticks to the fringes\r
Decoration:\r
1. Cut out polka dots from the green foam and white felt cloth\r
2. Stick them all over the hat\r
3. Stick a yellow feather on the tip\r
4. Take the silver ribbon and tie a bow around the base of the hat
